Distance from the TV to the floor
The ideal measurement is from the floor to the center of the TV. In most living rooms, that is usually around 42 to 48 inches. This helps place the TV at eye level when the person is seated.
Distance from the person to the TV
This depends on screen size, but here is a simple guide:
43" TV: 6 to 9 feet
50" TV: 6.5 to 10 feet
55" TV: 7 to 11 feet
65" TV: 8 to 13 feet
75" TV: 9 to 15 feet
Best recommendation
The correct height is not based only on the TV size. It should also consider the viewer’s seated eye level and the viewing distance.
Recommended option
For a standard living room, place the center of the TV at about 42 inches from the floor and position the seating based on the screen size.
Alternatives
For a bedroom, the TV can be mounted slightly higher. If it is mounted above a fireplace, it is often too high, so a tilting mount is usually a better choice.
A good starting point is to place the center of the screen at eye level when you’re seated. For most living rooms, that usually falls somewhere between 42 and 48 inches from the floor to the center of the TV. This keeps your neck in a natural position and reduces strain during long periods of watching.
Not every room follows the same layout, so it’s important to adjust based on your space. If you’re mounting a TV in a bedroom, the height will likely be higher since you’re often watching while lying down. In that case, a slight downward tilt can help keep the screen comfortable to view.
If the TV is going above a fireplace, it will naturally sit higher than ideal eye level. In those situations, using a tilt mount helps reduce neck strain and improves visibility.
For larger living rooms or open spaces, the viewing distance also matters. The farther you sit from the TV, the less noticeable small height differences become, but proper alignment is still important.
Several things should be considered before deciding on the final placement:
• Seating height, including couches and chairs
• Distance from the TV to the seating area
• TV size, since larger screens can sit slightly higher
• Room layout and wall space
• Lighting and potential glare from windows
Taking a few minutes to evaluate these factors can prevent discomfort later.
One easy method is to sit in your usual viewing position and measure the height from the floor to your eyes. That measurement should roughly match the center of the TV. You can also use painter’s tape on the wall to outline the TV size and test different positions before committing to installation.

A lot of people make the same mistakes when mounting a TV:
• Mounting the TV too high, especially in living rooms
• Centering the TV based on the wall instead of seating position
• Ignoring how they actually watch TV day to day
• Not accounting for tilt when mounting above eye level
Avoiding these mistakes will make your setup much more comfortable.
The best height for mounting a TV depends on how and where you watch it. Keeping the center of the screen close to eye level is a reliable guideline, but adjustments may be needed based on your room and viewing habits. Taking the time to position your TV correctly will improve both comfort and overall enjoyment every time you turn it on.

No, a licensed electrician is needed for that. If you have a power outlet behind the tv, we can run the power to it. If not, we will make a 2-inch hole behind the TV and below, next to a power outlet in order to have the power cord run behind the wall and come out right next to the power outlet as pictured below.
Not if you purchase a complete TV installation package or a tv wire concealment service.
Two 2-inch holes are made (on drywall only) to run the cables from the tv to the nearest power outlet inside the wall where they are not visible.. The holes are covered with grommets to look nice.
If the cables cannot go behind the wall, they are run down over the wall and covered with a white plastic that can be painted the same color as the wall.
You can but you don’t have to. You can purchase a wall mount from us for your own convenience and our installer will take it to you the day of the installation.
Our professional installers have all the experience necessary to prevent any damage as much as possible. In the unforeseen case of an accident, our insurance will cover any damages.
Yes there are, but they are limited, book your appointment ASAP before availability runs out.
